Imelda May has paid tribute to the late Irish singer Sinead O'Connor, almost two years on from the singer's death.

O'Connor who passed away from natural causes aged 56 in 2023, was hailed as the "bravest woman she knew" by May.

Speaking in a recent interview, an emotional Imelda May, who was a close friend of O'Connor, spoke about grieving for her loss almost two years on.

"Sinead was absolutely brilliant, she spoke the truth and she was brave as anyone I ever knew, she was one of the bravest women,” she said. "She took the grief that she got all the time and she was just full of love all the time and I really miss her, I'll miss her forever".

She continued: "I miss our chats, I loved it, she was funny as hell and a lot of people don't realise that.

"So for Sinead let's all try do what we can because she always spoke the truth".

"Yeah and I want to send big love to all her family".

Last week, it was revealed by a close friend of Sinead O'Connor that the late singer was working on a new Blues album prior to her sudden death. More on this here.
