Cian Ducrot's mum, Sabine, has always been a light in his life, particularly throughout his turbulent childhood.
The singer and his brother, Eoin, are estranged from their father, with Cian crediting his mother with fighting 'extremely hard to protect' them.
Now, he's praising his beloved mum for her hard work and dedication over the years as she raised her two boys as a single mum.
He told the Irish Independent: 'I’d be literally going to sleep listening to her practising next door... That’s how I remember falling asleep most of the time as a kid.
'Mum would play us stuff as babies to put us to sleep,' Cian continued. 'The melodies these composers used [were] unreal – and to be exposed to that so young was beautiful.'
For Cian, music is many things. Not only does it cleanse 'your soul, your spirit and your mind', but he's in awe of how it can help you 'through difficult times', and 'put food on the table'.
