Jess Glynne's 'Hold My Hand' has been named the 'song of the summer' by TikTok.
This comes after the hit went viral on social media thanks to the 'Jet2 Holidays' meme, with the tagline "nothing beats a Jet2 holiday" set to Glynne's track while advertising the package deals. It has now been soundtracked over 4.5 million videos, and earned 80 billion views. 'Hold My Hand' finished ahead of Jeezy's Soul Survivor in the list.
Reacting to the news, Jess Glynne said that she was "buzzing" that her hit was named TikTok's Song of the summer. She said: “This track is so close to my heart, and seeing it take on a whole new life with you all on TikTok has been surreal".
“Music has always been about connection for me, and knowing this song has soundtracked so many happy moments around the world… that’s the most special feeling ever. It’s the song that keeps on giving!", she added.
The enduring success of the trend was also seen stateside, with Forbes saying that interest reach an all-time high back in July, with the search query “what is a Jet2 holiday" quadrupling that month, according to a Google trend report.
