The Pussycat Dolls made a dramatic return to the American Music Awards stage this week, marking their first performance at the ceremony in two decades and sending fans into a frenzy ahead of their upcoming reunion tour — including a major Dublin date later this year.
Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt reunited at the 2026 AMAs on May 25, performing alongside Busta Rhymes in coordinating red latex outfits that immediately sparked nostalgia for the group’s early 2000s peak.
The trio performed their smash hit “Don’t Cha” with Busta Rhymes before launching into fan-favourite “When I Grow Up”, where Scherzinger thrilled the crowd by shouting: “WE’RE BACK!”

The moment quickly went viral online, particularly among longtime fans who have been eagerly awaiting the group’s official return since their reunion was announced earlier this year.
During the performance, Scherzinger, 47, wore a long-sleeved red latex jumpsuit before later adding a white hoodie emblazoned with the iconic lyric “don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me.” Roberts and Wyatt, both 44, matched the aesthetic with red latex stage looks featuring gloves and knee-high boots.
The appearance marked exactly 20 years since the group first performed at the AMAs in 2006.
Speaking ahead of the performance, Scherzinger reflected on the milestone reunion with Busta Rhymes and her bandmates.
“It's incredible. I believe it might have been our first time performing [in] 2006, and it's crazy that the time flies so much to think that it's 20 years later. Busta [Rhymes] is a legend,” she said.
“We love him. I actually just did a couple shows with him over the weekend overseas, and to be reunited with him, to be on the same stage with him, is always an honor.”
Scherzinger also opened up about what this new era of the group means to them personally.
“And then, to be with my girls in this new iteration, the women we are now in this stage of our lives, and hopefully being a light of hope, joy, and empowerment now to everyone is important for us because we need it now more than ever. We're here to serve that up for them.”
The reunion comes months after The Pussycat Dolls officially announced their return to the global stage with the launch of the PCD Forever world tour and brand new music.
As part of the tour, the group will perform at Dublin’s 3Arena on October 5, 2026, with Lil’ Kim joining as a special guest for the European and UK leg of the shows.
The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of the group’s debut album PCD, which helped define mid-2000s pop culture and produced global hits including “Don’t Cha,” “Buttons,” and “Stickwitu.”
The comeback also includes the release of new single “Club Song”, marking the group’s first new music since 2019’s “React.” The track was produced by Mike Sabbath and co-written by Scherzinger alongside Caroline Ailin, Solly and Sabbath.
The upcoming reunion tour will see Scherzinger, Wyatt and Roberts perform more than 50 dates across North America, Europe and the UK, with headline festival appearances also planned throughout the summer.

However, not all former members are involved in the reunion. Original members Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Carmit Bachar are absent from the current lineup. Bachar previously claimed in a statement shared to Instagram in March that she had not been contacted about the decision to reboot the group or participate in the tour.
The group had previously attempted a reunion in 2019 before plans were ultimately derailed by the pandemic.
Despite setbacks over the years, fan enthusiasm surrounding the group’s return has remained huge, with the AMAs performance serving as the clearest sign yet that The Pussycat Dolls are fully embracing their comeback era.
Alongside the tour, the band’s classic albums PCD and Doll Domination are also set to be reissued this year. It will mark the first time PCD becomes available across multiple formats, while Doll Domination will receive its first-ever vinyl release.
The reunion also arrives during a particularly successful period for Scherzinger individually, following her recent Tony Award win for her acclaimed performance in Sunset Boulevard, further cementing her status as one of the standout performers of her generation.
