Robbie Williams' scheduled show in Istanbul has been cancelled by the country's authorities.
The show, which was fixed for October 7, was due to take place at an open air venue in the Atakoy district of western Istanbul. It would have also marked the first show in the city.
However, it had received calls by several Turkish authorities to be cancelled, as Williams had previously spoken out in support of Israel.
Taking to social media, the former Take That singer confirmed the cancellation of this concert.
"I'm extremely sorry that I will not be able to perform in Istanbul next week," he wrote. "City authorities have cancelled the show, in the interests of public safety.
"The last thing I would ever want to do is to jeopardise the safety of my fans - their safety and security come first", he added. "To end this epic run of dates in front of my Turkish fans was my dream, given the close connections my family have with this wonderful country".
"We were so looking forward to this show, but the decision to cancel it was beyond our control".
Previously, Robbie Williams, whose wife Ayda has Turkish heritage, had noted that he should have visited Istanbul a long time ago.
