Robbie Williams' new album, 'BRITPOP' has been delayed until next year due to "scheduling issues".
The album had been initially set for release on October 10, but has now been pushed back to February 6 next year. It will mark Williams' first album in almost a decade.
Fans who had pre ordered this album were informed of the new development via email, which read: “Due to scheduling changes ‘BRITPOP’ will now be released on February 6 2026. Your order will be dispatched in line with the new release date. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, we promise it will be worth the wait".
The webstore was also updated to reflect the new release date.
The exact details regarding "scheduling changes" were not elaborated on. However, several fans were quick to notice that the original date had fallen close to another major album, Taylor Swift's 'The Life Of A Showgirl', which is set for release on October 3.
Fans were quick to point out on social media that this change in scheduling could be related to the charts, as reaching top spot in the charts would be huge for Williams.
“Robbie Williams’ BRITPOP has been delayed from October 9th to February 6th 2026. Likely to avoid clashing with Taylor Swift,” they wrote. “And to secure his 16th #1 UK Album, which would allow him to overtake The Beatles as the biggest UK Artist in history".
Other fans noticed that many artists have often pushed back release dates due to issues with pressing vinyl, and demand potentially may not be met in time due to the backlogs.
