Sienna Spiro Releases First Album 'Visitor'

Sienna Spiro has released her long-awaited debut album, Visitor, alongside a brand new single, Great Expectation.

The 20-year-old London-born singer-songwriter unveiled the record on Friday, marking a major milestone after a breakout year that has seen her become one of pop's fastest-rising stars.

Released through Capitol Records, Visitor blends soul, orchestral pop and intimate songwriting across its standard 10-track edition, while a deluxe version expands the collection to 15 songs with bonus material, including fan favourite Maybe, soundtrack song Material Lover, and an acoustic version of her hit Die on This Hill.

The album arrives alongside Great Expectation, a sweeping piano-led ballad that explores hope, heartbreak and the pain of waiting for someone who never arrives.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Spiro explained that it grew from a period when she was living in New York.

“‘Great Expectation’ is about a time when I was living in New York for a little while and talking to someone who kept saying they were gonna come see me.”

"Every morning, I'd walk down the stairs of the apartment building and, for a second, genuinely believe he'd be outside waiting. Then I'd spend the next five minutes walking down the street imagining what I'd say, what it would feel like, what would happen if they were really there."

She continued: "He never came. The song became less about that person, and more about expectation itself. Whether it's beautiful or just a way of setting yourself up to be disappointed. I wrote this song about knowing deep down he would never be what I wanted and that living with the idea of him was safer than nothing at all."

The album explores themes of impermanence, love and emotional vulnerability, something Spiro says has shaped much of her life.

"I've always had a strong awareness of impermanence; I'm very fearful of things ending and people leaving. It's so intense that I often won't participate in new relationships or anything I know won't last, so in a way I've spent most of my life feeling like a visitor — like someone who's just passing through."

She added: "Making this album really taught me how to savor things in the moment, instead of constantly worrying about the future. When people hear the record, I hope it helps them to find some comfort in the fact that everything is temporary. We don't always have to rush to let go — we can let things matter without needing them to last."

The release caps a remarkable rise for the singer, whose music has now amassed more than 1.2 billion global streams.

Earlier this year, she simultaneously charted three songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including Die on This Hill, The Visitor and You Stole the Show.

Spiro is also preparing for a busy few months on the road. Her upcoming My House world tour sold out rapidly, with more than 135,000 tickets snapped up across North America, Europe, the UK and Australia after additional dates were added due to demand.

Before the tour begins, she'll return to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 13 and is set to appear at major festivals including Lollapalooza Chicago, Newport Jazz, Outside Lands, All Things Go and Austin City Limits.
