Ticket Scam Warning Issued Ahead Of Summer's Big Gigs

Ahead of several high profile events coming to Ireland, Ticketmaster have warned fans to literally stay tuned in, especially when it comes to buying tickets online.

Such high profile events include the return of Brit pop icons Oasis, who will be taking their reunion tour to Croke Park on 16 and 17 August.

Other events include Electric Picnic returning on the 29th and 31st of that month, with Sam Fender, Hozier, Kings of Leon, Fatboy Slim, Chappell Roan, Hozier, Kings of Leon and Becky Hill among others.

Looking ahead to these shows, the company have shared several tips to fans when it comes to avoiding scams and fake tickets. Unfortunately with demand for tickets at an all time high, this is the reality for music fans.

Ticketmaster Tips: 

1. Buy only from official channels: The company have urged fans to purchase tickets from the official ticketing agent or venue. Also ensure to use the artists' official website, which provides a list of approved ticket providers.
2. Do not buy tickets before the on-sale tickets: Always proceed with caution when it comes to offers for tickets to tours that have not officially gone on sale yet. It is likely that these tickets are not valid.
3. Avoid social media resellers and unofficial platforms: Buying tickets from individuals or unverified sources on social media can pose a strong risk of fraud. These tickets can be fake or duplicated.
4. Double check the website url: Always ensure that you are using the correct site when buying tickets online, whether its Ticketmaster Ireland, Ticketmaster.ie or Ticketmaster app. Always look out for fraudulent sites that closely resemble the real one.
5. Printed Tickets: Concert goers have also been warned that scammers can often sell duplicates of the same printed ticket. Most Ticketmaster tickets are available, while using dynamic barcodes that refresh every 15 seconds also help to prevent fraud.
