Met Éireann have promised a dry and sunny weekend, with temperatures set to hit highs of 23 degrees.
Speaking on the daily weather podcast, Met Éireann meteorologist, Linda Hughes said that while there will be rain and drizzle on Friday, which will clear for brighter weather throughout the day. A Status Yellow rain warning bringing heavy rain was brought in for Cork, Kerry and Waterford, which expired at 9am this morning.
“This morning will start cloudy and damp with rain, drizzle, mist and fog,” Martin told the daily weather podcast. “This will gradually clear eastwards through the morning and afternoon and will be followed by scattered showers and occasional sunshine".
The national forecaster has said that Friday will range between 15 and 21 degrees, with the warmest weather coming in the east and south of the country. Looking at Friday night, a mixture of clear weather and showers have been forecasted initially, giving way to drier weather by the morning.
Light winds have also been forecasted for the night, with the possibility of mist and fog. Overnight, temperatures will remain cooler and fresher than previous nights, dropping to between 7 and 11 degrees.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather is to be dry for Saturday, including spells of bright weather, with the possibility of some isolated showers for the northwest in the morning. Temperatures are set to stay between 15 and 22 degrees, with the warmest weather set for the east.
Met Éireann have predicted plenty of dry weather for the rest of the weekend.
Sunday morning is to see mist and fog, before clearing for dry and sunny spells. Temperatures are to range between 17 and 23 degrees, with the eastern coast set to experience the coolest weather, due to a light breeze.
As for next week, occasional showers are expected, but it is likely to become warmer across the board, according to Met Éireann. They have also predicted a mixture of clouds and sunny spells.
Heavy showers are expected to move in from the south, which will mainly affect Leinster and Munster, but may extend unto the north.
Thunderstorms are also forecasted for Monday, with temperatures to range between 20 and 25 degrees.
