Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O'Donovan, has been taken to hospital after becoming ill at an event in Limerick.
The Government minister became unwell at an EU Presidency meeting, which was taking place at the University of Limerick, before he was taken to hospital via an ambulance.
Mr O'Donovan was hosting a meeting of EU telecommunications ministers which was being held at the UL Sports Arena. It has since been confirmed that a press conference involving the minister had also been cancelled.
"The minister became unwell during the EU informal meeting at the University of Limerick and has been taken off site for assessment and treatment", a spokesperson for Minister O'Donovan said. (Quotes according to RTÉ).
