A Ryanair flight coming from Dublin was one of six flights affected by bomb threats across Europe, which led to evacuations, security checks and fighter jets being deployed.

Thankfully, it has been confirmed that all flights affected, landed safely, and no bombs were found.

Two Ryanair aircraft which touched down at Rome's Fiumicino airport also received separate bomb alerts this morning.

At approximately 9.40am local time, the airport revealed that they had received an anonymous report, with an aircraft being inspected which had landed from Lisbon at the Italian airport.

A second Ryanair aircraft travelling from Dublin, FR9611, was also escorted by the Italian Air Force One jets, which landed around 10.45am amid another report of a suspected bomb on board the aircraft.

“The Italian Air Force escorted Ryanair flight FR9611,” the airport spokesperson said. “The same security procedures were implemented on the ground for this flight and its passengers".

So far, six flights have been affected by reported bomb threats, as two aircraft which were set for Warsaw, one travelling to Sofia from Israel, and a Ryanair flight from Manchester to Murcia from Manchester were also affected.

A LOT flight travelling from London Heathrow to Poland, carrying 181 people was also diverted from the main Chopan airport to Warsaw Modlin, as passengers were evacuated while the aircraft was inspected. This did force the Modlin airport to close temporarily. But the Boeing 737 MAX did land safely.

Another bomb warning was also reported at an SAS Scandanavian Airlines flight from Copenhagen to Warsaw.

A security inspection was conducted on this plane at Chopin airport. The landing strip was closed, but the airport continued to operate.

Local media in Bulgaria had reported that counter terrorism officers were forced to inspect an aircraft arriving to the country from Bergamo, Italy, following a bomb threat against a Wizz Air flight which was travelling from London, Luton to Sofia on Monday.

It was diverted to Budapest and taken by a Hungarian fighter jet before they landed safely.

Security checks were carried out on the aircraft and passengers, with Wizz Air confirming that no bombs were found during this search and the flight to Sofia would continue.

Elsewhere, 114 passengers and seven crew were evacuated from the Ryanair aircraft following a security protocol was carried out at Murcia Airport. There was no evidence of any exlosive devices found, according the the delegate for the Spanish Government.

The delegate, Francisco Lucas said that normal operations have also resumed, and thanked all emergency teams involved.

News of this also comes after Ryanair had warned that employees may be asked to accept temporary pay freezes as the airline looks to cut costs in response to soaring fuel prices. More on this here.
