Two men who were arrested over the death of a 29 year old woman in Co Tipperary, been released without charge.

This was concerning the fatal assault of Scarlett Faulkner, who suffered serious head injuries during the incident on the roadside near the village of Birdhill on 21 March. She was later transferred to Cork University Hospital, where she died three weeks later on 12 April.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to Ms Faulkner's family. She was remembered by her family as "a young mother, a daughter, a lady whose life was intertwined with love, responsibility and hope".

The two men in question, one aged in his late teens and the other in his 40s, were arrested in connection with this fatal assault on Tuesday, and taken to garda stations in Co Tipperary, before being released without charge.

Gardaí investigating the case have said that files will now be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It was also confirmed that a 40 year old woman and 16 year old girl have been brought before the courts in connection with this incident. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with assault causing serious harm to Ms Faulkner.

The woman, who also cannot be identified following a court order, will face four charges, including reckless endangerment, violent disorder, and two counts of burglary.

The pair are due to appear before Nenagh District Court for directions from the Direction of Public Prosecutions.

Following Scarlett Faulkner's death, it was also confirmed that her brother Jason had also died in tragic circumstances earlier this month. He was a pallbearer at his sister's funeral, and it is believed that he was aged in his 30s.

Paying tribute online, Scarlett and Jason's cousin wrote: "My heart, 2 days after burying your sister Scarlett, your gone now Jason, her lovely brother. The laughs we had, oh Jason what are the family gonna do? I can't get my head round it, no doubt Scarlett Faulkner was there to meet you - together again forever".
