Ethan Hawke has admitted he “can’t believe” he never dated Drew Barrymore, telling the actress he has been aware of her for as long as he can remember.
The actor made the comments during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday, October 16, where the pair discussed their long-standing awareness of one another.

“I can’t remember a time in my life when I was not aware of you,” Hawke told Barrymore.
“That’s how I feel about you!” she replied.
Hawke then added: “What I can’t believe is that we never dated, you know? I mean...”
Barrymore jokingly responded: “Where were you?”
“And by the way, what me and every other girl on the planet wouldn’t have given to date you. Where the hell were you?” she added.
The light-hearted exchange was shared by The Drew Barrymore Show on social media.

Hawke, 55, has been married to his wife, Ryan Shawhughes, since 2008. The pair first met when she worked as a nanny for his children with his former wife, actress Uma Thurman.
They reconnected after Hawke and Thurman divorced in 2005 and eventually began dating.
Hawke and Shawhughes later married and went on to have two daughters together, Clementine and Indiana.
Hawke also shares daughter Maya and son Levon with Thurman.

Barrymore, 51, shares two daughters, Olive and Frankie, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman. The former couple divorced in 2016.
The actress was previously married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas and comedian Tom Green before her marriage to Kopelman.
While the pair never became a couple, their playful exchange offered a glimpse of the affection and familiarity they have for one another.
