It was a big night at the 2025 Emmys, with a record-breaking win. The 15-year-old Adolescence star, Owen Cooper, became the youngest winner for best supporting actor in a limited series at the 77th Emmy Awards. The show dominated the awards overall, picking up several major prizes across acting, directing, and writing categories.
Irish talent had been in the running across a few key categories, but despite strong performances and plenty of buzz, none of the nominees walked away with a win. Still, there was plenty of pride to be had in seeing Irish actors and creators such as Colin Farrell, Sharon Horgan, Ruth Negga, Genevieve O'Reilly and Denise Gough.

The ceremony itself was full of energy, laughter, and memorable speeches, with hosts keeping things light and playful while celebrating the best in television. For fans, it was a chance to see some of the year’s most talked-about shows shine on a global stage.
While the Irish may not have left with statues this year, their presence was felt. For now, ‘Adolescence’ is the show everyone’s talking about.
