AngryGinge shot to national prominence after his victory in the latest season of ITV’s flagship reality series. He was declared King of the Jungle on 7 December 2025, receiving more than half of the public vote — 53 per cent in the final three and 65 per cent in the final two — to beat runner-up Tom Read Wilson and third-place Shona McGarty. His win came at a moment of record support for the show, which delivered some of its highest ratings in years among younger audiences.

Born and raised in Eccles, Greater Manchester, Burtwistle built a large online following as a Twitch streamer and YouTuber before entering reality TV. Posting under the handle Angryginge13, he became known for football-related gaming content, especially around the FIFA franchise, and amassed more than 1.5 million Twitch followers and nearly a million YouTube subscribers by early 2026.
His online success was marked by nominations for Best Sports Streamer at the Streamer Awards in both 2024 and 2025, as well as appearances in high-profile charity football matches including Soccer Aid and the Sidemen Charity Match.
Although he was already a notable figure on social media, many viewers first learned his real name and background through I’m A Celebrity, where his charm and humour helped win over audiences week after week. The streamer’s jungle journey was not without challenge — he faced the physical demands of Bushtucker trials and the harsh camp conditions, even revealing after the show that he lost a significant amount of weight during his stay.
Producers of the BRIT Awards reportedly moved quickly to bring him on board for the event, which this year has shifted away from London for the first time in its 46-year history. The ceremony will be hosted by Jack Whitehall, and the awards trophy is set to receive an upgrade for 2026. Burtwistle, described by insiders as a “proud local lad” who “went down a storm in the jungle,” is expected to bring his authentic personality and growing mainstream appeal to the show.
