Jennifer Lopez has shared an unconventional take on breakups, suggesting people should celebrate the end of relationships rather than mourn them.
The singer and actress opened up about heartbreak during an appearance on Subway Takes, where she reflected on relationships following her recent divorce from Ben Affleck.

Lopez argued that ending a relationship shouldn't be viewed as a failure, but instead as an opportunity for personal growth.
"Breakups are not a failure. I honestly feel like it’s a launchpad into your next best self."
The 55-year-old even suggested that friends and family should throw parties to mark the occasion.
"We should have a party when we break up. People should say, 'You broke up? Congratulations,' because one, you made a decision. Two, it was probably the best thing for everybody."
Lopez also shared her thoughts on the emotional aftermath of a split, saying those left heartbroken often come away with valuable life lessons.
"If you're the one who's being heartbroken, you're the winner."
She continued: "Because if you go around your life and you're breaking hearts, let's say, you're a loser. I've been on both sides. We all do that. But if you're that person, you're never learning anything."

Her comments come months after finalising her divorce from Ben Affleck, ending one of Hollywood's most high-profile relationships. The pair rekindled their romance in 2021, nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement, before marrying in 2022.
However, Lopez filed for divorce in 2024, with the split finalised earlier this year.
Since then, Lopez has largely focused on her music, film projects and upcoming performances, while continuing to speak openly about resilience, self-worth and embracing new chapters in life.
