An emotional Boy George has said he felt "panic in the air" near the scene of the attack in Golders Green, London on Wednesday.

This was after two Jewish men, one aged in their 30s and the other in their 70s were stabbed in the street during the day on Wednesday morning in Golders Green, in north west London.

According to BBC News, the two men, Shloime Rand and Moshe Shine, were treated at the scene and remain in a stable condition in hospital. A 45 year old suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene.

In the aftermath, Culture Club frontman Boy George, has said that he could feel a sense of "panic in the air" when he was in the area at the time.

Sharing a video clip of the road cordoned off with police tape, with an ambulance and police on the scene on the scene, George wrote: "I was in Golders Green yesterday. I arrived just as the police presence was building".

"Even before I knew what had happened I was in tears because you could feel panic in the air", he continued.

"My heart goes out to the two Jewish victims and to their loved ones. We need to make our Jewish community know we support them", the singer added. "These are just regular people getting with their lives. London has always been a great multicultural city. Our Jewish community brings us so much. They are an integral part of the fabric of this city".

Boy George also shared a link to a song from Amy Winehouse's song, Love Is A Losing Game on Spotify.

Following the attack, a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace shared a statement on behalf of King Charles III, saying that he was "deeply concerned" about this incident.

They added: "His thoughts and prayers are with the two individuals who were injured and offers his heartfelt gratitude to those who so selflessly rushed to their aid".

Elsewhere, British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer has described the attack on the two Jewish men as "utterly appalling", adding: "Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain".
