Caroline Flack's brother has been found dead, just six years on from the former Love Island's tragic death.
Norfolk Corner's Court confirmed that Paul Flack, was found hanged at his home in Norwich on June 21. He later died at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, despite several attempts to save him. His death came just three days after his 55th birthday.
On Monday, an inquest into Mr Flack's death began at Norfolk Coroner' Court, with a provisional post-mortem ruling the cause of death as cardiac arrest due to hanging. Coroner, Yvonne Blake has said that an investigation would be needed before the circumstances surrounding Paul Flack's death could be established fully.
The inquest also said there was no evidence heard regarding the circumstances leading to him being found unresponsive at his home.
Paul Flack, a graphic designer, leaves behind a partner and their two children, in what is another tragedy for the Flack family, with Caroline Flack having died from suicide in 2020. She died after she lost her job as Love Island presenter, having been charged with assaulting her then boyfriend, Lewis Burton.
Caroline had been accused of assaulting Mr Burton. She admitted to hitting him with a mobile phone, after noticing a message which led her to believe that he had been unfaithful. She later became stressed and injured herself when Lewis said he would call the police.
While Lewis did not require hospital treatment, Caroline later received treatment in hospital for 12 hours. She was then charged over the incident, before later killing herself upon learning that the case was to proceed, despite Lewis Burton stating that he would not press charges against her.
Caroline Flack had came to prominence as a renowned presenter of The X Factor, Love Island, as well as the spin off shows for, 'I'm A Celebrity.....Get Me Outta Here!'.
Paul's final post on Instagram saw him pay tribute to his sister, writing: "This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline".
His death was first reported by the Eastern Daily Press, where his mother, Christine had worked for some many years.
Last year, a documentary, Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death which featured on Disney+, saw Paul appear alongside his mother, and sister Elizabeth.
In the series, Paul had said that Caroline was the first thing on the family's minds when they wake up, as they gathered around her memorial bench.
Elsewhere, Christine said that her "biggest regret" was not speaking up during the final few months of her daughter's life, when the Flack family were warned against voicing their opinions.
In the documentary, Christine said: "I think Caroline would be pleased with what I'm doing. I wish I had done it then, before she took her own life, and that's my biggest regret, that I wasn't shouting like this, then. But now I have nothing to lose. The worst thing in the world happened with losing Carrie".
Prior to its release, documentary director, Christian Collerton had said that it was about "correcting the narrative", while claiming that what was "put out for public consumption during those two months was essentially the case for the prosecution". Find out more on this story here.
