Viewers of BBC One’s The Celebrity Traitors will finally discover tonight whether comedian Joanne McNally or actress Sharon Rooney will be banished, following last week’s dramatic cliffhanger.
The pair came under suspicion during Friday’s roundtable, with both Faithfuls receiving an equal number of votes. A second round of voting followed, with content creator and Traitor King Kenny holding the deciding vote.
However, the episode ended before viewers could discover which contestant had been chosen for elimination, leaving their fates hanging in the balance.
The mystery will be resolved when the reality series returns for its penultimate episode tonight, as tensions continue to rise ahead of Friday’s grand finale.
With the remaining Faithfuls increasingly suspicious of one another, the Traitors appear to be successfully avoiding detection. Other contestants who faced scrutiny during last week’s roundtable included Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock and actor Sebastian Croft.
Meanwhile, King Kenny and fellow Traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster were among the most trusted contestants during last week’s challenge.
The trio were rewarded with a special power, ultimately choosing to give King Kenny a dagger that allows him to cast two votes at the roundtable, potentially giving the Traitors a significant advantage.
Another murder is also expected following the roundtable’s conclusion, as the contestants continue to be eliminated ahead of the final.
The most recent victim was comedian Miranda Hart, who was murdered by the Traitors because they considered her “a good detective”.
Reflecting on her departure, Hart became emotional as she explained how the experience had helped her reconnect with both her professional and personal life.
She said the programme had allowed her to return to the work she loved, while also enjoying time in the Scottish Highlands and reconnecting with nature.
“There were times I didn’t think that would be possible again,” she said.
Hart has previously spoken openly about the fatigue associated with her chronic illness, which she has linked to a diagnosis of Lyme disease.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Celebrity Traitors features 21 famous contestants competing in a game of deception and strategy. Those selected as Faithfuls must work together to identify the Traitors, who secretly eliminate players during the night.
The series is filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, with contestants competing for a charity prize fund of up to £100,000.
