Conan O'Brien is officially returning to host the Academy Awards for a third consecutive year.
The comedian and former late-night chat show host will front the 99th Oscars ceremony on March 14, 2027, when Hollywood’s biggest night returns to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan are also returning for another year alongside producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney.
In a joint statement, Kapoor and Mullan praised O’Brien’s impact on the ceremony over the last two years.
“Getting to reunite with Conan O'Brien for a third year at the Oscars is really special,” they said.
“He brings that signature humour everyone loves, along with a real warmth and generosity that carry through the entire show.”
They added that O’Brien had become “a true creative partner” who made the entire production process “genuinely fun, both behind the scenes and on stage.”
Bill Kramer and Lynette Howell Taylor also confirmed their excitement at bringing the team back for another year.
“They are an incredible team and have produced such captivating, entertaining and heartfelt shows over the last two years,” the pair said.
“We look forward to Conan superbly leading the celebration with his brilliance and humour.”
O’Brien has earned widespread praise for his recent Oscars hosting performances, with Disney television executives previously joking that the comedian had effectively become “Oscars host for life.”
At the end of this year’s ceremony, O’Brien even took part in a comedy sketch in which he was dramatically appointed permanent Oscars host before being comically “killed off” and replaced by MrBeast.
The 63-year-old is best known for fronting iconic US late-night programmes including Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and Conan.
He currently hosts the hugely popular podcast Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and travel series Conan O'Brien Must Go.
Outside of television, O’Brien recently appeared opposite Rose Byrne in dark comedy film If I Had Legs I'd Kick You.
The presenter has won six Primetime Emmy Awards and received 33 nominations throughout his career, including recognition for his Oscars hosting work.
The 99th Academy Awards will air live on ABC and Hulu and will be broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide.
