The Traitors Ireland ended on a huge cliffhanger on Monday night as another contestant was banished from the castle – while Carla once again managed to escape the chop.
The dramatic episode saw the Faithfuls turn on one of their own as teacher Donal was banished following a series of tied votes with Kayleigh and Carla.
Making his final plea to the group, Donal insisted he had always been a Faithful and urged his fellow contestants to focus on finding the Traitors.
‘I feel again and again, I have had to prove myself,’ he said.
‘I just hope the Faithful make the right decision. That we can get the two Traitors. If that means me not being a good enough Faithful, I will go home happy. I am not here to beg.’
But his appeal fell on deaf ears and, after being banished, the Leitrim man became emotional as he addressed the rest of the group.
‘The reason I am upset… what an experience, every one of you. I thought you were unbelievable!’ he said.
‘I am, and have always been a Faithful.’
His pal Ian had attempted to save him, telling the group: ‘I was saying that from the start Donal was a Faithful.’
While the Faithfuls successfully eliminated Donal, they narrowly missed a much bigger target — Traitor Carla.
The Traitor managed to survive another roundtable despite facing growing suspicion, with Aoife having previously named her as a cloak wearer.
Carla protested her innocence, saying: ‘I am as confused as everyone else here. My name was brought to the table once.
‘Then this is all coming back at me today. I feel I was being set up. It’s a game and I get that. But genuinely, I am 100 per cent Faithful.’
The pressure on the Faithfuls had been building throughout the episode, with car salesman DJ predicting that the game had reached a crucial stage.
‘We’re in extra-time now. Traitors will want weak people at the end so throats are going be cut now. The boys are being picked off one by one,’ he said.
One of those men was Sean C, who was murdered face-to-face by the Traitors the previous night.
Carla told him: ‘It’s time for us to murder you.’
Newly recruited Traitor Pauric added: ‘It’s time for the Traitors to take control of this game.’
A stunned Sean C then told Pauric: ‘They have no idea it’s you!’
But Pauric had no hesitation in turning on his own pal, insisting: ‘He would have done the same thing to me.’
Carla then went into overdrive during the roundtable as she attempted to deflect suspicion after Aoife had accused her of being a Traitor.
Viewers were quick to take to social media to share their thoughts on the explosive roundtable, with many left baffled by Carla’s continued survival.
One viewer wrote: ‘Carla would survive a nuclear apocalypse.’
Another said: ‘Carla is some operator.’
A third added: ‘No idea how Carla survived that.’

At the end of the already tense episode, Pauric was given a letter ordering him and Carla to carry out their next murder in plain sight. The letter instructed the pair to find a hawthorn tree in the castle, which contained a secret message.
Ultimately, the message told them they needed to ‘hold hands’ with the Faithful they wished to murder and, before the stroke of midnight, say to them: ‘Goodnight and thanks for the dance.’
Debating between murdering DJ or Kayleigh, the pair’s plan quickly went sideways when Janet walked into the room and asked to debrief with Pauric and Carla.
Following an emotional chat, Pauric seized his moment and quickly grabbed Janet’s hand and skipped with her, before exclaiming in an English accent: ‘Well, let’s go home. Goodnight darling, thank you for the dance!’
But in a shocking twist, the episode ended with Janet pausing and turning to Pauric with a loud gasp.
‘Did you murder me?’ she asked.
Viewers will have to wait until Tuesday to find out more about Janet’s suspicions.
