Hewson stars in the new Speilberg film Disclosure Day, as Jane, a former nun whose partner Daniel is a whistleblower, attempting to expose secret information about extra-terrestrial encounters.
Disclosure Day is described as a sci-fi film that follows a meteorologist and a cybersecurity expert who become determined to expose the governments cover-up of extraterrestrial secrets.

The Bad Sisters actor recalled the moment she found out that Speilberg wanted to talk to her about the roles. She said in a recent interview with RTE Entertainment: "I had some sort of panic attack when I found out Steven wanted to talk to me about a movie and it was a secret for some reason. I don’t think I told my family, I didn’t tell anybody for a while."
"I just had all this weird energy in my body and I didn’t know what to do with it. So I just drove to the Westfield Century City mall [in Los Angeles] and bought loads of socks. It was a panic buy situation. What do I do with all this energy? Socks!" she continued.
It was Hewsons role in the Irish show Bad Sisters that secured her the role in the new film. "She’s wonderful. I had previously worked with Eve Hewson on Bridge of Spies (2015), she played Tom Hanks’ daughter," said in an interview.
"But I thought of her because I was a big fan of Bad Sisters. I thought she did extraordinary work in that. So, she got the part pretty quickly," he continued.
Hewson recalled a conversation she had with Spielberg about the film, she said: "I remember Steven said to me on set, ‘A lot of people are going to side with your character, and it will start an interesting conversation’, It was really interesting learning about why people go into being a novitiate and thinking about why she left and that turmoil she was going through. I really enjoyed playing her."
Last night, Hewson and her co-stars appeared in New York for the US premiere. Hewson wore a feminine pastel pink dress by Karla Welch.
