Influencer Lorna Luxe has shared an update on how she’s coping weeks after her beloved husband John passed away.
Lorna, who openly shared John’s battle with cancer online as well as their life together, revealed that he was laid to rest on Tuesday.
Chatting in a video update, Lorna told how the funeral was ‘beautiful’ and a day that, although it’s ‘crazy’ to say, he would have loved.
Lorna said: ‘It was beautiful. People I’ve not seen in a very long time turned up. I knew we’d have a good turnout as John was very loved… But I was like “wow all these people have rocked up”… I was really touched by that. It was a good day; it was good to chat about him and celebrate him.
‘We had a humanist celebration, and Jackie [who led the ceremony] captured him in such a way that it was almost like she knew him; she’d come round to the house and asked what he was like, but she’d really listened... He would have loved, it’s crazy to say, the funeral. He’d loved it.’
Looking ahead, Lorna said that she’s going to try and get out to see her friends as it helps to be ‘busy and doing things’ and that she’s also hoping to rearrange the charity event she had to postpone.
Lorna had been set to hold a charity sale, but when John became very sick, she called it off, something she says she’s glad she did, as John passed away within days of when the sale would have been.
‘I want to deliver on [the charity sale] because people have bought tickets, but I also think it’ll be a lovely way to remember him as well,’ Lorna said.
Lorna also thanked her fans for their support over the past few weeks, saying she’s been sent countless messages and stories, with her phone now ‘full of screenshots’ of the kind words she’s received.
‘I’m really grateful for all the lovely messages,’ Lorna said, adding that her online community has been ‘just want she’s needed’ while grieving.
