A BTS fan who repeatedly visited the home of Jungkook and rang his doorbell 133 times has been handed a suspended prison sentence and could now face deportation from South Korea.
The woman, a Brazilian national who has not been publicly identified, was sentenced by a district court in Seoul after being found guilty of repeatedly stalking the K-pop superstar despite warnings to stay away.
According to court documents, the woman first began visiting Jungkook's property in December 2025, claiming she acted "out of love" for the singer. Prosecutors said she repeatedly attempted to make contact by leaving letters and photographs at his home.
The court heard that during one visit she lingered outside the property before throwing items over the wall and pushing letters through gaps in the entrance gate.
Just days later, she allegedly returned and repeatedly rang the singer's doorbell 133 times, behaviour that judges described as demonstrating an "extreme level of obsession."
This week, the court sentenced the woman to one year in prison, suspended for two years, meaning she will avoid jail time unless she commits further offences during the suspension period.
She is also expected to be deported from South Korea, although that decision could potentially be overturned if she successfully appeals the ruling.

The case highlights the growing issue of celebrity stalking in South Korea's entertainment industry, where some stars have faced persistent harassment from so-called "sasaeng" fans – a term used to describe individuals who engage in invasive or obsessive behaviour towards celebrities.
Jungkook, one of the members of global K-pop phenomenon BTS, has become one of the world's most recognisable music stars. Alongside his bandmates, he has helped BTS achieve unprecedented international success, breaking streaming records and selling out stadiums around the globe.
In recent years, South Korean authorities have taken a tougher stance on stalking offences following the introduction of stricter anti-stalking laws, with courts increasingly willing to impose criminal penalties on those who repeatedly target victims.
The ruling serves as another reminder of the darker side of celebrity culture, where admiration can sometimes cross the line into harassment, prompting legal action to protect public figures' privacy and safety.
Unfortunately, the South-Korean artist is far from being the only celebrity who deals with stalking and legal issues. In fact, a lot of public figures, in showbiz, entertainement and even in social media alike, are faced with such challenges.

A man accused of stalking Sabrina Carpenter has told a court he believed he needed to be with the singer "to save the world" as a judge extended a restraining order against him for five years.
William Applegate made the claims during a court hearing in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he argued that he and the pop star were part of a classified military programme and needed to be together for reasons of "national and global security".
According to court proceedings, Applegate said the pair were required to "be together as soon as possible" because of what he described as a secret mission.
The hearing followed a petition filed by Carpenter seeking legal protection after a series of alleged incidents at her home.
The singer previously told the court that Applegate repeatedly appeared at her property and attempted to gain access.

Last year, it was revealed Jennifer Aniston's alleged stalker was sent to a mental health unit for assessment.
49 year old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle has appeared in court on October 3 and 15 2025, where the list of violent threats he allegedly made against the Friends star were read out for the first time.
Such offences include Mr Carwyle reportedly driving his car into the gate of Aniston's home in Bel-Air, as well as been sending frightening text messages to her over a period of months.
Following the crash which took place in May, he was ruled "not a substantial danger" and was recommended to serve 90 days in jail if found guilty. The accused was charged with felony stalking and felony vandalism, as well as the threat of great bodily harm.
This alleged period of harassment has been taking place over two years, which has included unwanted texts, social media posts and other acts of violence.
It was reported that Jennifer Aniston was furious with the police's handling of the case, after they reportedly leaked her blocked address on their case file, which led to fans gathering outsider her home.

Back in 2024, a 34-year-old US citizen made threats on social media towards Taylor Swift and hernow fiancé, boyfriend at the time, Travis Kelce, ahead of the pop icon's German show.
The man, who had a ticket to Swift's concert in Gelsenkirchen, was detained after being identified at the admission control point to the venue on Wednesday.
The police investigation could not rule out that the man posed a threat to the iconic pop-star.
