Patrick Swayze's younger brother, Sean, has died aged 63.

It was confirmed that Sean passed away before Christmas, having died on December 15 in LA. He is the third of five Swayze siblings to die, with Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze passing away in September 2009 aged 57, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Their older sister Vicky Lynn had previously died in 1994 aged 45.

Sean's death was confirmed by his son, Jesse Swayze, with TMZ announcing that Sean had died from acute upper gastrointestinal bleed and sever metabolic acidosis, which was caused by cirrhosis of the liver, which occur late in chronic liver disease, according to his death certificate.

Paying tribute to Sean Swayze, Rachel Leon shared this touching message, saying that he was "always fun and full of life".

She said: "I’m heartbroken to share that my cousin Sean Swayze passed away today. This is a picture he took recently for us to promote the Dirty Dancing crawfish theme".

"My daughter, a marketing manager, came up with this idea to honor our late cousin, Patrick Swayze. We sent the T-shirts to Sean, who wore them proudly for us. He was always fun and full of life", she added.

"Just recently, we were talking about him coming down to Texas to spend time with us, and I was really looking forward to it. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his brother Don Swayze and [Sean’s] children. We are praying hard for the entire family during this difficult time. Please know that we love you and are always here for you. Sean, I love you so much, and we will miss you dearly".

Speaking of Dirty Dancing, actress Millie Bobby Brown said that she had initially wanted to recreate the iconic dance scene, before ultimately deciding against it.

“Oh my God, if you get that lift wrong, it’s too much", she said at the time. More on this story here.
