Prince William has said that his children have fallen in love with classic British comedy, Fawlty Towers.
The Prince made this revelation while speaking to the star of the show, John Cleese, aka Basil Fawlty, at the recent Tusk Conservation Awards at London's Savoy Hotel, an event honouring those safeguarding the habitats and animals of Africa.
Cleese who is also an ambassador for the trust, was joined at the event by his wife Jennifer Wade and fellow ambassador and Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood. Other guests who were in attendance included Zara Tindall, her husband and former England rugby player Mike Tindall, as well as Prince Williams' cousins Lady Amelia, and Lady Eliza Spencer.
Speaking to Cleese, Prince William said that the family were having "a lot of family laughs" watching the show and his children "love it". He added that he has also been "reminiscing" on the series and enjoying it "all over again".
Following their chat, John Cleese said of Fawlty Towers: "I always explain it's about 'who's scared of who' and kids pick that up immediately. And mine, all those years ago, grew up watching it!".
On the night, award winners included Laban Mwangi, a head ranger working in Kenya, along with Rahima Njaidi who established a Tanzanian community-led forest conservation network, as well as Kumura Wakjira who was recognised for his work in Ethiopia.
Praising these people, Prince William said that they "should inspire us to drive change", adding: "If we all want to continue to enjoy and benefit from the wonders of the natural world we must not be the generation that stands by as wildlife and biodiversity disappears".
"What we choose to do will have an impact on future generations, and tonight we must choose to do more".
