While guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rosie O'Donnell spoke about her move to Ireland, as well as her long standing feud with the US President.

O'Donnell's feud with Mr Donald Trump dates back to 2016, when he ran for the White House first.

During her opening monologue, O'Donnell said: "You know, I've been living in Ireland for the past two years because of 'Mango Mussolini'", in reference to Trump's apparent orange complexion.

She continued: "I read that Project 2025 and said, 'Got to get myself out of here, you know'. And I decided to go to Ireland, a place where people are driven to drink regardless of who's running their country".

Explaining her move, O'Donnell said: "I decided to move, and I took my little, then 11-year-old kid with me. And I just said, 'Whatever you do, don't tell anyone because we don't want a lot of press and a lot of paparazzi".

"And then they went to school and proceeded to tell their entire class, 'I'm very sorry. I won't be able to graduate sixth grade with you. I'm being forced to move to another country because the President of the United States hates my mother. But in all fairness, I believe my mother hates him more".

Rosie O'Donnell's roots in Ireland are traced back to her father who is originally from Co Donegal.

During a previous chat on the Good Hang podcast with Amy Poehler, O'Donnell had said that her move to Ireland has been both "very beautiful" and sometimes lonely.

On the podcast, she spoke about her visit to Donegal, she said: "My cousins were in their very late teens, and so they got us into trouble. They would shoot cap guns and try to provoke the British Army". Her mother had died at the height of the Troubles in 1973.

Last year, it was reported that Donald Trump had threatened to revoke O'Donnell's US citizenship, after she openly criticised the Trump administration's handling of weather forecasting during the Texas floods.

However, US law did state that a president is unable to revoke the citizenship of any American individual who was born in the USA.

In response to her criticism, Trump had called O'Donnell "a threat to humanity" who "should remain in the wonderful country of Ireland, if they want her".

Following this, Rosie O'Donnell spoke to Miriam O'Callaghan, where she insisted that she was not bothered by Trump's threats.

"I reacted with a little post that I jotted off in five minutes, and that's been getting a lot of attention online", she said last year. "I am very proud to be opposed to every single thing he says and does and represents".

She added: "There's a long list of celebrities he's threatened, including Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Mark Ruffalo. There are activists, artists who have always spoken out in their lives and career[s]. It's part of their public persona and their essence, and he's against all of us".

"So, I didn't take it personally, but I will tell you the way that he is has emboldened people like him".
