Saoirse Ronan and Aimee Lou Wood are the latest names to be added to the cast of the forthcoming Beatles biopics, directed by Sam Mendes.
Mendes will direct four separate biopics about each member of the Fab Four, titled The Beatles A Four Film Cinematic Event, which will see Ronan join a cast which already includes fellow Irish actors Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan, who will star as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr respectively, while Harris Dickinson and Joseph Quinn will play John Lennon and George Harrison.
The biopics are set to to be released in April 2028.
Now, it has been confirmed that Saoirse Ronan will star as Linda McCartney in the biopic, the late wife of Beatles star Paul McCartney. This was confirmed following months of speculation.
Elsewhere, The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood will play George Harrison's partner Pattie Boyd, while Mia McKenna-Bruce will star as Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr's wife, with Yoko Ono being portrayed by Anna Sawai.
Rumours have also been circulating that House of Guinness star James Norton is to take on the role of Brian Epstein, the manager of the Beatles.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right – and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure", Sam Mendes said.
