Sydney Sweeney has dismissed years of speculation about alleged tensions between the cast of Euphoria, making it clear that many of the stories surrounding the show's stars have been exaggerated by social media and the media.
The actress addressed persistent rumours of behind-the-scenes drama in a new interview with Vanity Fair, where she pushed back against claims that cast members had fallen out or that their increasingly busy careers were responsible for delays to the hit HBO series.

For years, fans have speculated about supposed rifts involving Sweeney and her co-stars, including Zendaya, with various reports claiming the actresses did not get along.
Other rumours suggested political differences had created tension.
Sweeney has frequently found herself at the centre of political speculation, particularly after photos from her mother's 60th birthday party in 2022 showed some guests wearing clothing associated with conservative politics.
The actress later criticised what she described as unfair assumptions about her personal beliefs, arguing that people had rushed to draw political conclusions from family photographs.
More recently, reports emerged that she was registered as a Republican voter, while President Donald Trump publicly praised her American Eagle advertising campaign.
However, Sweeney herself has largely avoided discussing her political views in detail and has not publicly aligned herself with Trump or any political movement.

Some tabloid stories even alleged that Sweeney had been interested in Zendaya's fiancé, Tom Holland.
However, Sweeney appeared to put those claims firmly to rest, suggesting that much of the narrative had been created by outsiders rather than reflecting reality.
"Well, I mean, we all grew up together on this show, so it's honestly crazy to watch how much social media and the press spin things," she told Vanity Fair.
The actress was also asked about claims that cast schedules were responsible for the lengthy gap between the second and third seasons of Euphoria.

Sweeney explained that her commitment to the series always took priority.
"I was in first position to HBO. So the moment they say, 'Hey, this is the first day of filming,' I'm legally not allowed to do anything else. So my schedule doesn't affect the show," she said.
She added that it had been "funny" to watch people create explanations for the delay, insisting that none of the cast's schedules were holding production back.
"All of us were in first position, so it wasn't like any of our schedules were holding it up."

Sweeney's comments are the clearest indication yet that many of the stories about feuds within the Euphoria cast may have been overblown.
Rather than confirming any tensions, the actress directly pointed to social media speculation and attention-grabbing headlines as the source of much of the drama surrounding the show.
The situation is also one that many female stars have spoken about over the years. Rumours of rivalries between successful actresses often generate significant attention online, with friendships and working relationships frequently scrutinised in a way that their male counterparts rarely experience.
