Ted Lasso is tackling women's football in the new season.
This comes after season three of the Apple TV series had ended with Ted returning home to the US. The series itself had followed the American football coach as he moved to England to manage AFC Richmond, a British football "soccer" team.
The new trailer for season four, sees Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis take on coaching a women's football team.
In the trailer, Ted is seen in the clubroom. He notices that his 'Believe' sign which he had used to motivate players and the coaching squad has been taped back up on the wall.
Ted is then welcomed by former player-turned-assistant coach, Roy Kent, played by Brett Goldstein, who tells Ted that it is "good to see him". Set to Mumford & Son's track, 'Run Together', the trailer also introduces Tanya Reynolds as a new member of the coaching staff, hired to help with coaching the club's women's team.
The team is then shown posing for a photo together, before heading out onto the pitch, but one player leaves Ted surprised as she pushes against the catchphrase that "football is life", telling them "No, life is so much more than football".
In the trailer, Ted replies: "It's not as catchy, but, true".
A synopsis for season four reads: "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team".
"Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would".
Ted Lasso, which has won 13 Emmy Awards since launching in 2023, will stream to Apple TV on August 5.
