While he’s been tipping away in Hollywood for the last few years, Barry Keoghan’s next film sees him starring alongside the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry and Mark Ruffalo.
Crime 101 is a thriller from the Irishman’s American Animals director, Bart Layton, who also wrote the script, adapting the Don Winslow novella, marking the first time the duo have teamed up since the 2018 film.
In this outing, the 33-year-old plays Orman, a rival thief to Hemsworth’s Davis, who has more disturbing methods of getting what he wants than the seasoned professional, and a planned heist sees their paths cross.
The Crime 101 plot is told from Davis’s point of view, with him being hailed as an elusive thief whose high-stakes heists have mystified police.
He’s planning his biggest ever score — hoping it’ll be his last — when his path collides with Sharon (Halle Berry), a disillusioned insurance executive whom he’s forced to work with.
As the multi-million dollar heist approaches, relentless detective Lt Lubesnik (Mark Ruffalo) closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even higher, and the line between hunter and hunted starts to blur.
Each of them is soon forced to confront the cost of their respective choices — and the realisation that there’s no turning back.
Hemsworth, Ruffalo, Berry, and a very blonde Keoghan aren’t the only big names attached to the film; the likes of Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte also star.
