Novak Djokovic is through to the semi finals of Wimbledon following an epic win over Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in a thrilling quarter final which went all the way,  7-6(10) 3-6 6-3 6-7(4) 7-6(10-4).

In what turned out to be the longest quarter final in the history of the championships, Djokovic found a way to eek out a victory and a place in an eight straight Wimbledon semi final, where he will play reigning champion, Jannik Sinner.

Djokovic took the opening set following a long tie break, after Auger-Aliassime sent a volley long, a set which the Canadian ought to have won, but he made amends in the second set to win 6-3, serving set following a double fault by Djokovic.

Following this, the Centre Court roof was closed at around 7.40om local time, leading to complaints from Djokovic. However, he regained his composure to win the third set 6-3.

However, Auger-Aliassime came back to win the next set following a tie break, despite losing an opening service game and hitting his chair with a racket in frustration.

In the final set, it was almost impossible to separate the pair, as they held serve for 12 games straight, until Djokovic managed to finally see off his opponents in the tie break, leading to huge applause from the thrilled and entertained Wimbledon crowd.
