The winning €1m lotto ticket was sold at Cork's Kent station!
The National Lottery has confirmed that Tom Stanley's store based in the Cork train station sold the winning Daily Million ticket from Sunday's 2pm draw.
According to reports, the winner has yet to come forward and the National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets carefully.
Store manager at Tom Stanley’s, Musharaf Hussain, said via the Irish Examiner that the shop was absolutely delighted to hear that one of their customer has won the €1m draw.
“Located in the heart of Kent Station in Cork city, we welcome a constant stream of people through our doors every day, whether they're commuting, heading off on holidays, visiting Cork or simply passing through," Hussain said.
“That's what makes this win so exciting; it really could be anyone! We're grateful for the ongoing support from our National Lottery sales representative, who is always on hand to help. We'd like to congratulate the winner and wish them every happiness as they enjoy this incredible prize,” he continued.
Spokesperson for the National Lottery, Emma Monaghan said: “We’re still waiting to hear from our newest millionaire in Cork! Were you heading off on a trip, visiting Cork, commuting through the city or making your way home? If you stopped by Tom Stanley’s and picked up a Daily Million ticket, it could be worth a very exciting second look - you might now have a ticket worth an incredible €1 million. We’re asking players to check those pockets, handbags, wallets and wherever else tickets tend to hide!”
