The incident happened shortly before midnight on the N11 Bray Road at Loughlinstown. Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a car.
The woman, who was aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was later removed from the area and taken for a post-mortem examination.
A full forensic investigation is currently underway, with Garda collision investigators examining the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The road remains closed this morning, and traffic diversions have been put in place while investigations continue.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the collision to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with road users who may have dashcam footage from the N11 Bray Road between 11:30pm and midnight.

The woman was one of three people killed on our roads yesterday. Raising the total number of fatalities on Irish roads to 62, in the first half of the year. Authorities continue to urge motorists and pedestrians alike to take extra care on the roads.
