Love Island’s Sean Fitzgerald confirms Galway GAA return as new research shows Irish viewers can’t switch off.
Galway’s Sean Fitzgerald has confirmed he’ll be returning to the football pitch after Love Island, as he and villa partner, Lola Deal shared exciting plans for their future together.
The couple, who were dumped from the villa last week after being voted into the bottom three by the public, say their relationship has continued to go from strength to strength since leaving the show.

Appearing on Love Island: The Debrief, Sean revealed the pair have already reached a major milestone by meeting each other’s families.
“We already met your family yesterday and had a nice dinner together,” Sean said.
Lola explained that Sean had met both her parents and her brothers, before Sean revealed the next stop was Ireland.

“I think the plan is to do a few bits here and go to Ireland on Saturday, and she’ll come meet my family.”
The couple also confirmed they’re planning a trip abroad before settling back into normal life, with Lola revealing she’s prepared to make a big move for the relationship.
“I’m 100% moving. I think we’re going to go travelling for a bit… we’re going to do Japan, Bali,” she said.
While their future together is taking shape, Sean also confirmed he’ll be returning to one of his biggest passions – playing Gaelic football for Galway.
Lola joked that she’ll happily work around his GAA commitments, saying: “When we come back, you’ve got football for a bit. So we’ll work around the dates for football. It’s all I’ve ever wanted – being a WAG.”
Although they narrowly missed out on a place in the final, Sean admitted the pair were ready to leave the villa.
“We were saying we wanted to go for a while. We just weren’t getting anything from it anymore… it was just getting boring,” he said.

As the ITV dating show heads into its final week, new research from iReach Insights suggests Love Island remains one of the few programmes that has kept viewers glued to live television this summer.
The research found that 52% of Love Island viewers have watched the show live every night, while a further 31% caught up later the same day.
When episodes clash with World Cup matches, one in four viewers chose to watch Love Island live before catching up on the football afterwards.
Before Sean and Lola’s departure, viewers were evenly split on who they thought would win the series, with 24% backing the Galway couple and 24% choosing fellow Islanders Ellie and Finley.
The Love Island final is predicted to be aired on ITV2 on Monday the 27th of July, with the winning couples taking home a £50,000 prize.
