Caroline Flack's mother Christine is to investigate her daughter's final days in a new two part documentary.
Christine has said that she plans to set the record straight regarding her daughter, and to counteract "the misrepresentations" which have damaged her reputation.
Former Love Island presenter Caroline Flack sadly died from suicide in February 2020 following a difficult time for the host, which saw her step down from Love Island after she was charged with assaulting her partner Lewis Bourton in December 2019. She had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Bourton himself did not support the charges, while the coverage at the time was widely condemned, leading to the 'Be Kind' movement.
Produced by Disney+, Caroline Flack: The Search for the Truth intends to ask the hard questions and bring new details from that time to the surface. It is led by Flack's mother Christine, who wants to investigate how her daughter was failed by the system.
A synopsis for the documentary reads: "This two-part Disney+ documentary follows Caroline's mother, Christine, as she investigates the truth about her daughter's final months -uncovering new details, asking difficult questions and exposing "the misrepresentations, pressures, and failures from institutions and decision-makers that shaped Caroline's final days".
Announcing this documentary, Christine, who remains understandably heartbroken over Caroline's death five years on, still has so many questions that she wants answers to.
"I still have so many questions about what happened to Caroline in her final months, and it's something I feel deeply compelled to explore, even though I know it will be challenging", she said. "I'm pleased to be working with the team at Curious Films once again, in the hope of bringing clarity and understanding to Carrie's story - not just for her, but for everyone who cared about her".
Caroline Flack: The Search for the Truth is to arrive on Disney+ on November 10.
