Celine Dion was forced to withdraw from a scheduled appearance at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland following a health scare, according to reports.
This comes after Dion had first appeared at the contest's first semi final, but not on the final, with fans claiming that they then spotted her in Basel. The singer had won this contest while representing Switzerland in 1988.
At that semi final, Dion had told fans that she would "love nothing more" than to appear at the contest, and described her 1988 win as a "life changing moment" for her.
However, according to reports from the French news site Le Parisien, Celine Dion was fixed to sing her winning track ‘Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi’ at this surprise performance, but she was unable to do so due to a medical episode, with a tribute to the singer performed by contestants from the 2024 contest being played instead.
Other reports in The Mirror have suggested that Dion had suffered a seizure after she arrived at the venue.
Back in July, Celine Dion also paid tribute to "true original", Ozzy Osbourne.
“I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy and I were label mates for many years – and although we came from very different musical universes, I always admired his boundless spirit and ear for melody on songs like ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’. He was a true original! Fearless, and simply larger than life… but also kind, thoughtful and generous", Dion wrote.
