Sabrina Carpenter has teased what to expect from her headline sets at the Coachella 2026 festival, saying fans will see her “most ambitious show” yet.
The pop star will top the bill at this year’s festival in Indio, California, alongside Justin Bieber and Karol G, marking a major milestone in her career as she steps into full headline status for the first time. Coachella remains one of the most influential music festivals in the world, with headline performances often seen as defining moments that can elevate artists into global superstardom.
She’ll take to the main stage this Friday for weekend one, before returning on April 17 for the second edition, with both performances expected to draw massive global streaming audiences as well as the tens of thousands attending in person.
During a new interview with fashion designer Marc Jacobs for Perfect, she was asked about how preparations were going for her two headline slots at the festival this month.
“It’s the most ambitious show I’ve ever done,” she replied. “It’s probably the most time I’ve ever had to actually just sit down and talk about a show as I’m building it.”
“Most of the time, you’re really quickly thrust into physical rehearsals, but this time around we started this process around seven months ago. So it’s been a long journey.”
She promised that her debut Coachella headline sets would be “very special”.

The performance comes at a time when Carpenter’s career is at an all-time high.
Over the past year, she has cemented herself as one of pop’s most in-demand acts, driven by the global success of her 2024 album Short n’ Sweet. The record produced multiple chart-topping singles, including Espresso and Please Please Please, both of which became viral hits and dominated streaming platforms, radio airplay, and TikTok trends.
Her rapid rise has also translated into sold-out arena tours across North America and Europe, with Irish fans among those snapping up tickets during her recent run of dates. Industry figures have pointed to her ability to blend playful pop with sharp, self-aware lyricism as a key factor behind her crossover appeal.

Coachella, meanwhile, has increasingly leaned into pop-heavy line-ups in recent years, reflecting shifting listening habits and the dominance of streaming-era artists. Previous headline sets from the likes of Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, and Harry Styles have set a high bar, often featuring elaborate stage design, surprise guest appearances, and viral moments that reverberate far beyond the festival grounds.
Expectations are already building that Carpenter could follow suit, with speculation mounting around potential guest performers and a visually striking production. Her emphasis on a longer creative process suggests a show that goes beyond a standard festival set, potentially incorporating theatrical elements, choreography, and narrative-driven staging.
For an artist who has steadily climbed from Disney Channel beginnings to global chart dominance, the Coachella headline slot represents a defining moment — and one she appears determined to make count.
