An official commemorative coin has been launched to mark the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls.
This coin has been launched by Royal Mint, who have added the band to their Music Legends Hall of Fame.
To celebrate this three decade milestone, a new £5 coin design has been announced, featuring silhouettes of all five members of the band, along with their authentic signatures. All five designs can be collected via this link here.
The coin's design also features the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings.
A description for this coin reads: “In partnership with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s brand management and merchandise division, The Royal Mint worked closely with the band to carefully curate a design that celebrates the incredible legacy of The Spice Girls".
“This official tribute allows fans to own a piece of pop history, celebrating a group whose message of female empowerment and unforgettable fashion proved that Girl Power could conquer the world".
This was officially approved by the Spice Girls, whose debut single, 'Wannabe' arrived in 1996. The design was created by artist, Ffion Rees (Nee Gwillim), with each of the five packaging designs strictly limited to just 15,000 coins worldwide.
“It’s a huge honour for us to be celebrated by The Royal Mint and follow in the footsteps of some true music icons", Spice Girls said in a statement. “2026 marks a special year for us as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our debut single and album. We could never have imagined that we would be recognised in this way – the first female group to be given their very own coin…what a moment for Girl Power!”.
Paying tribute to the Spice Girls, Director of Digital and Product Concept at The Royal Mint, Lucy Mackenzie said: “The Spice Girls didn’t just dominate pop music, they defined the 90s. Now, for the first time, fans and collectors everywhere can own a piece of that legacy".

The coins can be purchased from £18.50 for the 'Brilliant Uncirculated" edition. They are also available in Gold Proof, Silver Proof and as limited edition prints.
