Westlife have shared an update on Mark Feehily’s health as the band prepares to embark on its upcoming world tour.
Mark stepped away from the group in February 2024 after revealing he had suffered serious health complications following a battle with sepsis in 2020, which later resulted in pneumonia and multiple surgeries.
Despite remaining absent from live performances, his bandmates have now reassured fans that the singer is doing well and remains heavily involved with the group behind the scenes.
Speaking about Mark’s condition, Shane Filan said: “He’s ok, he’s taking a step back at the moment.”
Shane confirmed that Mark has continued contributing to the band’s new music despite not returning to the stage.
“He’s on the new music which is great, he’s on Chariot obviously as well, but no, not with us on this one,” he explained.
He also passed on a message from Mark to fans.
“He’s good and he sends his love to everybody and to all the fans too.”

The update comes after Westlife previously confirmed in October last year that Mark was “very much still part of the band” despite missing recent performances.
The singer was also absent from the group’s 25th anniversary celebrations last June as he continued focusing on his recovery.
Westlife’s upcoming world tour is due to begin in Aberdeen this September before travelling across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
The trio — Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Shane Filan — are set to perform in cities including Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, London, Manchester and Dublin, with an extraordinary 13-night residency at Dublin’s 3Arena this September.
The tour will also include dates in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Finland, Norway and New Zealand.
Recently,Westlife released their landmark anniversary album 25 – The Ultimate Collection, marking a major milestone for one of Ireland’s most successful ever music acts as they celebrate 25 years at the top of global pop.
The new collection, released today, brings together some of the band’s biggest hits alongside brand-new material recorded by Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily. Available across multiple formats including CD, vinyl, picture disc and cassette, the album celebrates a career that has seen the group dominate charts across the world for more than two decades.
The release includes recent singles “Chariot” and “Your Love Amazes Me”, with “Chariot” written by Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid and Will Reynolds, and co-written and produced by longtime collaborator Steve Mac. The track was immediately added to the BBC Radio 2 New Music Playlist A List following its release.
Westlife were honoured in Dublin earlier this month with a special award marking their record-breaking run at the 3Arena, where the band will become the most prolific performers in the venue’s history.
The globally renowned Irish pop group — made up of Kian Egan, Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne — were at the 3Arena on Friday, 1 May 2026, for an exclusive presentation celebrating their remarkable 82 shows at the venue.

As part of the tribute, the trio had their hands cast, cementing their legacy at the arena.
The milestone will officially be reached later this year during their “Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour” residency, which sees the band return to the 3Arena for a string of dates across September 2026.
The shows — scheduled for the 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 September — will bring their total appearances at the venue to an unprecedented figure unmatched by any other act.
