Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio supported Barnardos Giving Day on Friday, September 18th.
Trina Mara, Damian and Colm & Lucy got involved throughout the day, speaking to Barnardos staff, supporters and those who have benefited from the charity’s work.
Colm and Lucy also visited one of Barnardos’ Family Support Services, where they met staff and children and heard more about the work being done to support vulnerable children and families across the country.
You can hear Colm & Lucy speaking to children and Barnardos staff during their visit below.
Barnardos works with children and families who have been impacted by traumatic experiences, such as living in consistent poverty, domestic violence or abuse, neglect, mental health challenges, addiction and bereavement. They provide practical, emotional and specialist support through schools, family homes, communities, and its 56 centres nationwide.
Last year, Barnardos worked with more than 34,000 vulnerable children, parents and adults across Ireland. Demand for its services continues to grow each year.
Colm & Lucy also spoke to Sean Bergin, National Fundraising Manager at Barnardos Ireland. Listen below.
Barnardos’ mission is to help the most vulnerable children in society achieve their full potential.
