Ireland is set for a much calmer weekend weather-wise, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures approaching 20C after a week of showers across the country.
The change in conditions comes after a prolonged spell of hot weather was brought to an end by more unsettled conditions this week.
Temperatures will be noticeably lower than the highs seen earlier this month, but Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring mostly dry and bright conditions, with temperatures reaching around 19C.
Friday will see a mixture of sunshine and showers, with rain mainly affecting northern and western areas early in the day before spreading to other parts of the country during the afternoon and evening.
Some of the showers could be heavy at times.
By Friday evening, the showers will become more isolated and will mainly affect eastern and southeastern areas.
Highest temperatures are expected to range between 14C and 19C.
Friday night will be mostly dry, with just a few isolated showers possible in the north and west. Elsewhere, there will be long clear spells and temperatures will drop to between 7C and 11C.
