During her visit to Scotland, President Catherine Connolly has met with King Charles.
This comes after the president attended a dinner hosted by the King at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire as a special guest.
Located an hour south of Glasgow, Dumfries House is the headquarters of the King's Foundation which he established to manage his various philanthropic interest. It is situated on an extensive parkland estate.
King Charles had earlier hosted a reception at the 'Harmony in Food and Farming' summit at the 18th century mansion, which was attended by former US Secretary of State John Kerry.
During this meeting, President Connolly invited the King to make a state visit to Ireland, which he accepted in principle.
Prior to this, President Catherine Connolly had met King Charles at Buckingham Palace in May during her three day official visit to England.
This visit is to also see Ms Connolly meet with Glasgow's First Citizen Jacqueline McLaren at Glasgow City Hall, before attending GAA training and a musical performance at St Patrick's Primary School.
She is also expected to visit Edinburgh to meet with First Minister John Swinney and Minister for Europe, External Relations and Energy Stephen Gethins. More on this here.
