Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has confirmed that her father has passed away.
The actress, known for playing Sarah Platt in the soap, confirmed the sad news on Tuesday, explaining why she has not been active on social media recently.
Confirming the news, O'Brien said that she does not know "how to put it into words".
In her statement, O'Brien said: "I’ve been a little quiet on here. My dad recently died. I haven't quite known how to put it into words".
"My heart is very heavy but I'm grateful he is no longer suffering. Thank you to everyone who's held me steady through this difficult time. I love you. You mean the world to me. xx", the actress added.
Tina O'Brien had previously revealed on social media that she had went public with her new boyfriend, Adam Fadlé, an interior designer.
The actress was previously married to Adam Crofts, whom she shares a son with, Beau.
