Dolly Parton is mourning the death of her brother Coy “Denver” Parton, who has died at the age of 82.

Coy passed away in Sevierville, Tennessee, on Thursday, according to an obituary from Atchley Funeral Home.

His cause of death has not been revealed.

Unlike his famous sister, Coy lived much of his life away from the spotlight. He worked as a crane operator, was a homestead farmer and enjoyed hunting.

Coy is survived by Dolly and their siblings, including Willadeene Buzzeo, Robert Parton Jr., Stella Parton, Cassie Griffith, Freida Parton and Rachel George. He was also survived by his daughters Chris and Jennifer.

His death comes after the loss of several members of the Parton family, including his wife Carolyn Parton, and brothers Larry Parton, David Parton, Randy Parton and Floyd Parton.

Coy’s death also follows the passing of Dolly Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, who died aged 82 in March 2025.

Dolly previously paid tribute to her husband, saying they shared more than 60 years together after meeting outside a laundromat in 1964. The couple married two years later in 1966.

"Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy," she said following his death.

The singer later revealed that Carl had been dealing with a private health battle, saying she found some comfort knowing he was no longer suffering.

Dolly also took a break from music while grieving his death, telling Khloé Kardashian on the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast: “I can’t do it.”

The country music icon has also faced some health issues of her own in recent months. She cancelled a Dollywood appearance last September due to kidney stones and later postponed a planned Las Vegas residency to undergo medical procedures.

In recent months, Dolly said she was responding well to treatment and was improving.

Despite her health struggles, she recently returned to the spotlight with appearances including the opening of her Tennessee Travel Stop and the announcement of a new Broadway musical, “Dolly: A True Original Musical”, celebrating her life and career.
