Friends star Courteney Cox has reportedly split from her long-term partner, Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid, bringing an end to their relationship after more than a decade together.
The separation was first reported by the Daily Mail's Mail on Sunday, with People magazine later confirming the news. According to the reports, the pair quietly went their separate ways late last year after deciding they had reached a point where they were living "different lives."
A friend of the former couple told the Mail on Sunday: "Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much.
"This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives."

The couple, who first started dating in 2013, were last seen together publicly at the US Open in September 2025.
Their relationship began after Ed Sheeran introduced the pair while he was living with McDaid. Speaking to E! News at the time, Sheeran said: "My housemate who I've lived with for a year, I introduced him to Courteney Cox. They started dating and [are] crazy about each other."
The pair became engaged just nine months after meeting, but called off the engagement in 2015 and spent around six months apart before eventually reconciling.
Although they resumed their relationship, they chose to keep separate homes, dividing their time between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Speaking on the Minnie Questions with Minnie Driver podcast in 2024, Cox reflected on their first split, admitting it came as a complete shock.
"Three years in, we broke up, and it was really intense. We broke up in therapy. I didn't know it was coming, whether I should have or not. He just broke up within the first minute. And I was like, what? We were engaged, and I was so shocked. I was in so much pain."
She added: "He wasn't trying to surprise me. He was in that much pain in the relationship. There was that much that needed to be dealt with that he had to protect himself around his heart."
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple also endured months apart because of travel restrictions. Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020, Cox admitted: "I just miss his physical touch. It's been hard. This is the longest time."

The actress also previously addressed the couple's 12-year age gap, telling NewBeauty in 2017: "He's younger than me and with any other guy that would be the hardest thing in the world."
Most recently, the pair were spotted together during the summer of 2025 on a double date with Jennifer Aniston and her partner Jim Curtis, making the reported split a surprise to many fans.
