It was a star-studded family affair in Beverly Hills as Kate Hudson was honoured with the Pioneer of the Year Award at the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation’s Pioneer Dinner. The 46-year-old actress was joined by her famous mother, Goldie Hawn, and longtime partner Kurt Russell, turning the ceremony into a celebration of Hollywood royalty. Hudson, ever charming, paid tribute to her family while accepting the award, declaring, “We’re storytellers, innovators, romantics — and at our best, we are a family.”

Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson has spent more than two decades carving out her own place in Hollywood. She first captured audiences in 2000 with her breakout performance in Almost Famous, earning a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She became a fixture in romantic comedies with hits including How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Bride Wars (2009), and Something Borrowed (2011), while also showing her range in darker or dramatic roles like The Skeleton Key (2005), Nine (2009), Deepwater Horizon (2016), and more recently, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022). Off-screen, Hudson has built a reputation as a savvy entrepreneur, co-founding the athleisure brand Fabletics and branching into producing.

Goldie Hawn
Her mother, Goldie Hawn, remains an enduring icon of Hollywood comedy and charm. Rising to fame in the 1960s on the sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, Hawn won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Cactus Flower (1969) and delivered unforgettable performances in Private Benjamin (1980), Overboard (1987), and Death Becomes Her (1992). Even in recent years, she has returned to the screen in Snatched (2017) and The Christmas Chronicles series, showing her signature wit and timing remain as sharp as ever.

Kurt Russell
Kurt Russell, Hudson’s stepfather and Hawn’s longtime partner, is equally celebrated. He began acting as a child and became a Hollywood fixture with performances in Escape from New York (1981), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), and Tango & Cash (1989). More recently, he has charmed audiences as Santa Claus in The Christmas Chronicles films alongside Hawn, and taken on roles in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight (2015) and other action and dramatic projects, proving his versatility and staying power in the industry.
At the Pioneer Dinner, the family’s chemistry was on full display. Kate’s tribute to her parents was heartfelt and playful, reminding guests that behind their impressive careers, the trio remains a close-knit family. The event itself raised $1.3 million for the Pioneers Assistance Fund, reflecting both the glamour and the philanthropic spirit that runs through this Hollywood dynasty.
From Goldie’s legendary comedic beginnings to Kurt’s action-packed and versatile career, and Kate’s own eclectic filmography and business ventures, the Hawn-Russell-Hudson family continues to leave an indelible mark on Hollywood. The evening was not just a recognition of Kate’s achievements but a celebration of three generations of entertainers who know how to mix talent, charm, and family loyalty in equal measure.
