Dating can be nerve-racking, but when you suffer from anxiety, the challenge to go out and meet someone can be ten times harder, as Kodaline's Steve Garrigan knows all too well.
Kodaline is one of Ireland's biggest bands, and for frontman Steve, music is the one thing that brings him ease when he is on the cusp of a panic attack.
The singer, who will be celebrating his first wedding anniversary in May to his beautiful wife, Diana Bunici, has now recalled how he thought his anxiety would put her off him.
'I was like, "Oh no, I'm cramping his style."'But when she found Steve, he opened up to her.
Remembering exactly what he had said to her, she said: 'You were really deep into a panic attack, and you were like, "I have this thing, these really bad panic attacks. It's OK if you don't want to hang out or whatever"....

'You were pushing me away because you were anticipating that I would push you away because of your anxiety.'
For Steve, he said that he 'had come to the conclusion in my head that I was broken and that if people found out I was broken,' that they wouldn't want to know him.
And as for Diana, running away from the star was the last thing on her mind.

The couple, who have been together for over a decade, exchanged vows in front of their close friends and family on Sunday, May 11 2025.
Diana and Steve celebrated their nuptials at Castle Leslie Estate in Co Monaghan, a 17th-century castle that has been transformed into a luxurious four-star hotel.
And while married life seems to suit the star, Steve knows that while working on his music is important, so is working on your mental health.
