Katie Price’s daughter has revealed she suffered a traumatic childhood growing up with the former model.

18 year old Princess, the daughter of Katie and Peter Andre, admitted she is still recovering from her mother's 'dark times' while speaking in her new reality show The Princess Diaries telling viewers 'I had so much on my plate at such a young age.'

Princess described how mum Katie became depressed after she split from her third husband Kieran Hayler after discovering he had cheated on her numerous times throughout their marriage.

'She [Katie] is so unpredictable and she lives life and doesn't care,' said Princess.

'I love that, I'd love that mind set of I don't care because deep down I do, I'll get to bed and cry about it.

'I do have a counsellor who I see now and then and I write everything down in my notes. I wish I could have had a happier childhood, I had so much on my plate at such a young age and had things at the back of my mind.

'My mum and Kieran split up when I was 10 years old, we were close to him. He was in our lives for five years.

'He did a lot of stuff and when they split everything went downhill.'

Laying bare Katie's 'problems', Princess said she hasn't 'fully recovered' from her mum's breakdown but revealed she did apologise and they now 'talk a lot'.

She continued: 'Mum was heartbroken and she went through a dark time and it was things kids shouldn't see and when we needed our mum there, she wasn't there because she had her own problems.

'Kids in school would ask me about it and I was like 11 and I would just cry about it in bed. I couldn't just go to my dad about it because I grew up with them not liking each other.

'I'm not healed or fully recovered from it but mum has fixed herself compared to how she was back then.

Princess also opened up for the first time about the terrifying 2018 carjacking ordeal with her mother and brother Junior while they were filming in South Africa. She was only ten years old when six men held the family at gunpoint demanding Katie hand over her children to them.

'I looked out the window and I remember it not feeling real, and the guy was just staring into my soul. Then they were like "we've got guns, we're going to shoot you".

‘After the hijack happened, the police said it was a miracle that we survived. It is the scariest thing I have ever been put through. In that moment I genuinely thought I was going to get kidnapped and die.'

Dad Peter Andre also appeared on the show reacting with horror to the disgusting messages his 18-year-old daughter received from men online.

The singer remarked: 'that really made me feel sick' as Princess shared some of the messages she is sent on social media.

'Usually it's like old men, going on about my toes, sometimes they'll be like, 'let me take you on a date. I can't even read this message out, it's actually disgusting.’

In further controversy, while Peter stars in the show mum Katie does not appear in any of the six episodes that landed on ITVX on Sunday. Katie is reported to be very upset about this alleging she was banned from filming scenes for the series and even from attending her daughter’s 18th birthday party.

The model recently moaned: "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me."

Katie and Peter have been embroiled in a bitter feud ever since they divorced over 15 years ago.
