Kelly Osbourne has slammed people who have criticised her following her recent appearance at the BRIT Awards.

Osbourne appeared at the recent ceremony in Manchester's CO-op Live Arena, last Saturday night, where she accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award alongside her mother Sharon, on behalf of her late father Ozzy Osbourne.

Ozzy's widow, Sharon delivered an emotional speech while on stage at the ceremony, to which Kelly added "Up the Villa", in tribute to the late rocker's beloved football team, Aston Villa.

But hours after the show, Kelly posted a long message on Instagram, where she hit back at some abusive messages she received over her appearance on the show, stating that she will not be "dehumanized".

“There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most", she wrote.

“None of it proves strength,” she added. “It only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character. I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away aged 76 last Summer, with Kelly paying this moving tribute at the time: "I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had".

Other tributes include his former bandmate, Tony Iommi, who wrote: “I just can’t believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park".

“It’s just such heartbreaking news that I can’t really find the words, there won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother".
